The Home Depot’s for PC Pro App is one of the only solutions-oriented apps specifically designed to meet the needs of professional builders. Designed around the needs of professional builders, the app makes it easy to take everything you need on the go, from receipts to in-store product availability.
As the App was launched for the first time, I was walked through the processes and procedures that the app allows, selecting stores that I would normally use as a contractor. The app allows for the selection of your favorite stores and your favorite store.
Furthermore, the Home Depot for Windows App will walk you through each screen, providing explanations of each option provided to the user.
What does it offer?
Home Screen: Designed for ease of use, the PRO offers advanced options in a lightweight app built around the needs and wants of professionals. Broken into the following 8 sections, the app offers an easily tailored user experience.
Product Search: Find products by Voice, Text, or Barcode
Stores: Taking into consideration your ‘favorite stores’ choices; the user is also provided the option to search based on current location via GPS, and using the following search terms: (City, State), (Zip Code), and (Store Number). My favorite feature of this section is the ability to access store layouts within the app, allowing my team to plan their trip through the store and get back on the job. If you’re in a hurry, The Home Depot Pro App can let you check the inventory of your closest Home Depot store, check Material Safety Datasheets, and even make purchases right from the Jobsite.
Focus on the customer experience
Brands often talk about putting the customer first, but how often does a mobile app really feel like it was designed for customers?
Using an app to push promotion after promotion will only result in users uninstalling. Mobile apps should be easy to navigate, offer enticing promotions, and contain relevant content.
Home Depot delivers all of these promises with an app that incorporates useful tools with the latest in technology. Users can browse for products on the app, or if they’re in-store, find additional product information by scanning the product barcode. The app also contains a toolbox with a unit measurement converter and even a DIY measuring hack based off the user’s shoe size.
Customers who want to have an idea of what new faucets would look like on their sink before going to the store to purchase can use the Augmented Reality function. Once the user is ready to make a purchase, the product can be shipped to the customer’s home or picked-up in store.
Why an App?
According to Home Depot for PC app, 93% of general contractors and 87% of sub-contractors use a mobile device of some sort at jobsites. Of the construction professionals that were polled. 58.9% said that mobility is important when considering IT solutions.
With this in mind, Home Depot sought to design the app based on the wants and needs of their professional customers.
How to Install the Home depot app on Windows and Mac
- Install the BlueStacks emulator on your PC.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of the emulator.
- Open the emulator and look for the PlayStore app on the home screen.
- You will be asked to log in using your Google ID.
- Search for the Home Depot app and click on the install button.
You can also use the Home Depot app on your smartphone as well.
